FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We answer your most frequently asked questions about allergies!

1) Can allergies be cured?

Allergies do not “disappear” easily, but they can be effectively managed and controlled. In many cases, especially with the help of immunotherapy and desensitization, long-term improvement or even the complete remission of symptoms can be achieved.

2) What is oral immunotherapy (OIT)?

It is a desensitization method in which the body is gradually exposed to small amounts of the food allergen under medical supervision. The aim of this treatment is to increase tolerance and reduce the risk of a severe reaction in case of accidental exposure.

3) Is immunotherapy safe?

Yes, when it is applied by a specialized allergist and following the appropriate protocols. There are safety standards, monitoring stations, and specific criteria for patient selection.

4) How can I know if a symptom is allergic or not?

The distinction is not always easy. Many skin, respiratory, or digestive symptoms resemble allergies without actually being allergies. A complete medical history and targeted tests are the tools that clarify the picture.
